Ahmad Bradshaw, a free-agent running back, has been suspended for the first week of next season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

The suspension purportedly stems from a citation for marijuana possession in February.

Bradshaw, 29, has missed 19 games the past two years due to injuries. He led the Indianapolis Colts with 425 rushing yards (4.7 per carry) last season before suffering a season-ending broken fibula in November.

He also missed 13 games in 2013 with a neck injury.

A seventh-round pick of the New York Giants in 2007, Bradshaw has rushed for 4,843 yards (4.6 average) and 36 touchdowns in eight seasons for the Giants (2007-12) and Colts (2013-14).
