Atlanta Falcons linebacker Sean Weatherspoon is out for the season with a ruptured right Achilles.

Weatherspoon missed the entire 2014 season with a torn Achilles and was injured Sunday in the fourth quarter of a 48-33 win over the Carolina Panthers.

With Weatherspoon out, the 3-1 Falcons will likely use O’Brien Schofield as the top weak-side linebacker behind starter De’Vondre Campbell.

Weatherspoon, 28, also had a Lisfranc foot injury in 2013.

The Falcons brought him back on a one-year, $1 million deal this season after he spent 2015 with the Arizona Cardinals.

Atlanta drafted Weatherspoon in the first round of the 2010 draft. He signed a five-year, $17.5 million deal as a rookie.
