The Houston Rockets re-signed restricted free agent K.J. McDaniels to a three-year contract on Tuesday.
The team did not disclose financial terms of the deal, but multiple reports indicated it was worth $10 million.
McDaniels, the No. 32 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, joined the Rockets at the trade deadline last season in a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers for guard Isaiah Canaan.
In 62 games for the Rockets and 76ers in 2014-15, McDaniels averaged 7.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 blocked shots. The 6-foot-6 foward played in just 10 games for the Rockets after arriving in the trade.
McDaniels’ new deal comes on the heels of the Rockets trading four players and a 2016 protected first-round draft lottery pick to the Denver Nuggets on Monday for point guard Ty Lawson.
“It’s about time we got it done and I’m just happy to be a part of such a great organization,” McDaniels said, according to the Houston Chronicle. “I felt like this was the right place for me because I’m loyal to the team. I have a great relationship with the players on the team. The city was great to me.
“I love the organization. I love the history behind the Rockets and the greats that played there. It’s just a blessing.”
