The Boston Celtics acquired forward Perry Jones III from the Oklahoma City Thunder, a second-round in the 2019 NBA Draft from the Detroit Pistons and cash considerations in exchange for a future conditional second-round pick on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-11 Jones III averaged 4.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 43 games for the Thunder last season. He scored a season-high 32 points against the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct. 30 after standout Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant was sidelined with an injury and averaged 22.7 points during a three-game run.
Jones then suffered a knee injury, missed 13 games and saw limited action after the All-Star break in February.
The Thunder drafted Jones with the No. 28 overall pick in 2012. He has career averages of 3.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.
