Ex-player Hamilton dies in apparent murder-suicide

Darryl Hamilton, a 13-year major league veteran and an MLB Network analyst was found dead Sunday at a home in Pearland, Texas, in what police are calling an apparent murder-suicide.

The bodies of Hamilton, 50, and Monica Jordan, 44, were found inside the suburban Houston house before 5 p.m.

Hamilton’s body was found near the front entryway and police said he had been shot more than once.

Jordan, who owned the home, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. Her body was found in another part of the house.

Hamilton and Jordan had a 14-month-old child who was found unharmed inside the house.

Hamilton retired in 2001 after posting a .291 career batting average. He played for the Brewers, Texas Rangers, Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants and New York Mets.
