Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson fired agent Drew Rosenhaus and could hire rapper Jay-Z’s company, Roc Nation, USA Today reported Monday.

Roc Nation has recently taken on other professional athletes as clients, including New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano, New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith and WNBA star Skylar Diggins of the Tulsa Shock.

Jackson reportedly told teammates he would like to sign with Roc Nation, in part because Jackson is involved in the music industry as owner of label Jaccpot Records.

The Philadelphia Inquirer was first to report Jackson’s interest in hiring Roc Nation.

The NFL Players Association is investigating the firm in its recruiting of Smith since Jay-Z is not a certified agent. He cannot recruit a player to sign with the company.

Jackson must wait at least five days after filing agent-termination papers with the NFLPA before he can begin talks with potential agents.

Rosenhaus, who negotiated a five-year, $51 million contract extension for Jackson last year, is the second agent Jackson has fired in his career.

USA Today reported that Jackson has not paid fees to Rosenhaus for several months. Jackson’s previous agency, DeBartolo Sports, also had problems collecting fees from Jackson.

Jackson had a career-low 700 yards receiving in 11 games last year. He was limited by a ribs injury.
