The Miami Dolphins are placing their franchise tag on defensive tackle Randy Starks, the NFL Network and ESPN reported Monday.
Starks, who had 27 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 16 games last season, will make $8.45 million.
The move means that offensive tackle Jake Long, cornerback Sean Smith and wide receiver Brian Hartline will likely be free agents beginning March 12.
