Miami Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas is done for the season with a torn ligament in his left ankle, offensive coordinator Mike Sherman said Monday.

Thomas left Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers in the fourth quarter. He had three carries for eight yards and two catches for two yards. For the season, he has 77 carries for 279 yards with three touchdowns.

Thomas was in a committee role with Lamar Miller, who is now the featured back.
