Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, on the 15-day disabled list, will play some games on a minor league rehab assignment next week.
Puig was placed on the disabled list April 25 for a strained left hamstring. He is eligible to be activated May 10, the last day of next week’s seven-game trip.
Manager Don Mattingly said Puig won’t go to the first city on the trip, Milwaukee, but he could be actived for the final game in Colorado.
“Everything’s going good right now,” Mattingly said Friday. “He’ll play some games soon.”
Puig missed four of five games in April, returned to play the three-game series in San Francisco but re-injured his hamstring on April 24 in San Diego trying to beat out a sixth-inning ground ball.
Puig is hitting .279 with two home runs and four RBIs in 11 games.
