The Los Angeles Dodgers designated right-handed pitcher Scott Baker for assignment after Sunday’s win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
In his final start for the Dodgers on Saturday night, Baker allowed two home runs and two doubles among the seven hits he surrendered to the Diamondbacks in four innings. Baker was charged with four runs.
In his two starts for the Dodgers, he went 0-1 with a 5.73 ERA. Opposing batters compiled a .262 average against him.
The Dodgers had been carrying 13 pitchers on their roster.
In another transaction, the Dodgers acquired first baseman Andy Wilkins from the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday for cash considerations.
Wilkins, 26, was batting .264 in 21 games for Triple-A Buffalo. Last season, Wilkins hit 30 homers for Triple-A Charlotte, the Chicago White Sox top affiliate.
The left-handed hitter made his major-league debut last season, when he played 14 games for the Chicago White Sox.
