The next 36 hours will be crucial to Texas ace Yu Darvish and for the rest of his Rangers teammates.
Darvish, who has a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, could require Tommy John surgery. The team is expected to announce a course of action for Darvish on Wednesday.
He was in New York on Monday to get a second opinion. Darvish, according to multiple reports, will be evaluated again on Tuesday.
In his first start of spring training Thursday, Darvish left after just one inning.
“Right now, there’s nothing official until we complete all the steps that we need to complete with the second opinions and everything else,” Rangers manager Jeff Banister said.
