Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry will undergo an MRI exam on Monday after injuring his right knee against the Houston Rockets on Sunday.
Curry slipped on a wet spot as the first half drew to a close and limped to the locker room at halftime of Game 4. Golden State defeated the Rockets 121-94.
Curry suffered a right knee strain, the team announced.
Curry missed Games 2 and 3 with a right ankle injury. He returned to the starting lineup for Game 4 and missed 7 of 9 shots in the first half, shooting just 1 of 7 on 3-pointers while pairing six points with five assists in 18 minutes before suffering the knee injury.
Curry returned to the court during halftime, briefly warmed up but returned to the locker room as the third quarter commenced.
–Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant avoided a suspension but was fined $15,000 for his flagrant 2 foul on Dallas guard Justin Anderson in Game 4 of the Western Conference series, the NBA announced.
Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook received a larger fine of $25,000 for “directing inappropriate language” toward a fan during Saturday’s game. Oklahoma City won the contest 119-108 to take a 3-1 lead in the series.
Durant was called for the flagrant 2 and was ejected with 50.6 seconds left in the contest. He attempted to contest Anderson’s shot and smacked the rookie across the face with his forearm.
–A power surge knocked out the main lights in the second quarter and delayed Sunday’s Game 4 matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies.
The first-round playoff game at FedExForum in Memphis was delayed by 19 minutes. The surge occurred with 10:02 remaining in the second quarter and the Spurs leading 25-23.
Once played resumed, the Spurs recorded a 116-95 victory to complete a four-game sweep of the Grizzlies.
