
Reigning MVP Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and center Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons were named NBA Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Curry averaged a league-best 39.3 points in Golden State’s three victories last week, including scoring outputs of 53 and 40 points. The guard shot 58.8 percent from the field, 48.6 percent from 3-point range and 95.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Drummond posted three consecutive double-doubles while averaging 18.7 points and league-leading 16.3 rebounds as the Pistons also opened with three straight wins. He had 20 points and 20 rebounds in an overtime victory over the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
