The Indianapolis Colts released quarterback Josh Freeman on Monday.

The 6-foot-6, 248-pound Freeman was signed by the Colts as a free agent on Dec. 29 with mounting injuries at quarterback. He started in the season finale against the Tennessee Titans and completed 15 of 28 passes for 149 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Freeman was waived by the Miami Dolphins before the start of the 2015 season. He started four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and one game for the Minnesota Vikings in 2013.

Freeman has played in 62 career NFL games (61 starts) and passed for 13,873 yards with 81 touchdowns and 68 interceptions.
