Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey will be placed on injured reserve Monday, according to the Kansas City Star.

Dorsey injured a calf muscle last week against the San Diego Chargers. It was the same injury that cost him four games earlier in the season.

Not only is he gone for the season, he may have played his final game with the Chiefs as he is in the last season of his contract.

Dorsey was the fifth overall pick in the 2008 draft but has only developed into a part-time player, so the Chiefs may not be willing to spend much money to keep him around.

Kansas City signed defensive tackle Shaun Smith last week. He might play in Monday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Chiefs will bring up defensive back Neiko Thorpe from the practice squad to take Dorsey’s spot on the 53-man roster.
