The Kansas City Chiefs have a new head coach in place.
The Chiefs reached an agreement with former Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid on Friday, according to multiple reports that confirm speculation for several days that Reid would take the job.
Fox Sports reported that terms of the contract were to be reviewed by both sides before becoming final.
Reid was fired earlier this week by the Eagles after 14 years in Philadelphia. The injury-plagued Eagles slipped to 4-12 this season.
Reid also had drawn interest from San Diego and Arizona in their searches for a new coach.
The Chiefs fired coach Romeo Crennell after finishing 2-14 this season. On Friday morning, the team announced Friday morning that general manager Scott Pioli had left after four seasons, possibily clearing the way for Reid to have control of the team’s personnel decisions.
