Arizona Cardinals running back Ryan Williams is out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury, according to the team’s website.

Williams sustained the injury last Thursday against the St. Louis Rams. The second round pick in last year’s draft also missed his entire rookie season with a torn Achilles’ tendon.

With Beanie Wells out, Williams had been getting the bulk of the carries. He had 58 rushes before the injury but was only averaging 2.8 yards per carry.

Wells is on injured reserve with turf toe but is designated to come back as of Nov. 25. LaRod Stephens-Howling is also hurt and his status for this week is not known.

William Powell and recently-signed Alfonso Smith look to factor into Arizona’s running game this Sunday when it hosts the Buffalo Bills if Stephens-Howling cannot play.
