The Houston Rockets signed unrestricted free agent center Marcus Camby, the team announced Monday.
Camby reached agreement with the Rockets on a one-year contract Sunday for the veteran minimum $1.4 million, according to the Houston Chronicle.
He became a free agent when the Toronto Raptors bought out his contract after he was acquired from the New York Knicks in the Andrea Bargnani trade.
Camby, 39, was drafted No. 2 overall by the Raptors in 1996. He has played in 973 NBA games. He joins centers Dwight Howard and Omer Asik on the Houston roster.
Camby averaged 1.8 points in 24 games for the Knicks last season.
For his career, Camby has averaged 9.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks with the Raptors (1996-98), Knicks (1998-2002, 2012-13), Denver Nuggets (2002-08), Los Angeles Clippers (2008-10), Portland Trail Blazers (2010-12) and Rockets (2011-12).
