Sasha Kaun agreed Saturday on a two-year deal that gives the Cleveland Cavaliers a veteran backup center.

Terms of the deal were not revealed.

The Cavs have held the rights to the 30-year-old since drafting him out of Kansas in 2008.

Kaun has played for European powerhouse CSKA Moscow ever since. Last season, he earned $2.9 million.

The 7-foot Kaun posted career highs in points (9.9 per game) and rebounds (4.5) last season. He was a member of the 2012 Russian National team that was coached by current Cleveland coach David Blatt.

He joins a Cavaliers frontcourt that includes center Timofey Mozgov, forward Kevin Love and forward/center Anderson Varejao.

Free-agent forward Tristan Thompson also is expected to re-sign.

Kaun’s signing is the second in three days for Cleveland. Swingman J.R. Smith also agreed to a two-year deal on Thursday.
