Derrick Rose can’t jump, but the Chicago Bulls guard is strengthening his knee and hamstring after a third knee surgery in three years.

“I’m in a positive space right now,” Rose said.

Rose said he is shooting and working on his body for the playoffs after his Feb. 27 surgery to repair a torn right meniscus. Rose said he is working on balance and building his body, and he wants to be in the playoffs for the first time in three years.

“Right now, it’s about getting the most out of my rehab, getting the most out of every day,” Rose said, adding that he refuses to put a timeframe on his return to the court.

While the Bulls placed a four- to six-week timeframe for his projected return — around April 11 — Rose said there is no given date.

— Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh could begin regular exercise later this month and is expected to resume full basketball activities in September, doctors said Monday.

Bosh will be evaluated this month and, if cleared, can begin exercise immediately and start strength training in April, according to thoracic surgeon Dr. John DeRosimo and team cardiologist Dr. Ed Neff.

They said Bosh is scheduled to recommence basketball work in September.

Bosh, 30, was hospitalized for a week in February with blood clots on a lung and is out for the season as he undergoes blood-thinning treatment.

— Los Angeles Clippers guard Dahntay Jones was fined $10,000 by the NBA.

The fine, announced by President of Basketball Operations Rod Thorn, was assessed after Jones bumped into Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green while Green was being interviewed on TV after the Warriors beat the Clippers 106-98 at Oracle Arena on Sunday.
