The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed draft picks, claimed two players off waivers and released one player on Tuesday.
Signing were linebacker Kwon Alexander, the Buccaneers’ fourth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft; wide receivers Kenny Bell and Kaelin Clay, selected in the fifth and sixth rounds; and running back/fullback Joey Iosefa, a seventh-round draftee.
Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed by the team.
The Buccaneers also picked up safety D.J. Swearinger from the Houston Texans and linebacker Khaseem Greene from the Chicago Bears off waivers and released safety M.D. Jennings, who signed with Tampa Bay during the offseason.
Alexander totaled 156 tackles during his career at LSU, receiving All-SEC honors last season. Bell finished his career at Nebraska as the school’s career leader in receptions wtih 181 and in receiving yards with 2,689..
Iosefa started 29 of 32 career games for Hawaii and rushed for 2,218 yards and 21 touchdowns on 512 carries. He had a team-best eight rushing touchdowns last year.
Clay, the 184th overall selection from the University of Utah, finished the 2014 season with 43 receptions for 523 yards and four touchdowns. He also returned 22 kickoffs for 548 yards (24.9 average) and one touchdown and 23 punts for 346 yards (15.0 average) and three touchdowns. Clay was named first-team All-America by several news services.
Swearinger started 22 games for the Texans the past two seasons and had 140 tackles, three interceptions and one fumble recovery. Greene played in 26 games for the Bears in 2013 and 2014, compiling 38 tackles and one interception.
