Forward Steve Novak, signed by the Milwaukee Bucks as a free agent one week ago, will miss the remainder of the season due to a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
Novak was hurt Saturday when Detroit guard Reggie Jackson collided with him during the Pistons’ 102-91 win at Milwaukee.
In three games with the Bucks, Novak averaged 2.3 points. He played seven games earlier this season for the Oklahoma City Thunder, averaging 2.4 points.
Novak, 32, was a second-round draft of the Houston Rockets in the 2006 draft out of Marquette.
In 459 career NBA games (six starts) for the Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City and Milwaukee, he averaged 4.7 points and 1.3 rebounds.
