Bucks extend contract of GM Hammond

The Milwaukee Bucks extended the contract of general manager John Hammond for one year through the 2016-17 campaign.

Hammond received the extension on Monday after the franchise made a 26-game improvement and finished 41-41 last season. Milwaukee reached the playoffs for the third time in seven seasons under Hammond and lost a first-round series to the Chicago Bulls.

The 61-year-old Hammond was the NBA Executive of the Year after Milwaukee went 46-36 in 2009-10.
