The Milwaukee Bucks acquired free-agent guard Matthew Dellavedova in a sign-and-trade deal from the division-rival Cleveland Cavaliers for the rights to Albert Miralles on Thursday.
In addition, the transaction also creates a $4.8 million trade exception for the Cavaliers.
The Bucks signed the 25-year-old Dellavedova to a four-year deal worth a reported $38.4 million.
“We wish Delly the best as he continues his career in Milwaukee,” Cavaliers general manager David Griffin said. “Delly is a special person on and off the court and was a very dedicated, hard worker that grew as part of our team and made significant contributions to our success.
“Our coaches and his teammates will always appreciate his ‘all-in’ approach to the game, as he was ready to contribute whenever his number was called. We know he will continue to grow and succeed as he takes the next steps of his NBA journey with the Bucks.”
Dellavedova recorded career highs in points (7.5), assists (4.4) and 2.1 rebounds this past season for Cleveland.
The 34-year-old Miralles, who was selected by Toronto in the second round of the 2004 NBA draft, has played his entire professional career overseas, mostly for Spain.
