The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reached agreement Thursday on a one-year contract with free-agent cornerback Mike Jenkins.
The base salary is $1.5 million and has incentives that could boost the total value to $2 million, NFL.com reported.
Jenkins, a former Pro Bowl selection, was with the Oakland Raiders last season after spending the first five years of his career with the Dallas Cowboys. In 15 starts for the Raiders last year, Jenkins had 65 tackles, two interceptions and six passes defensed.
Jenkins is part of the Buccanners’ offseason defensive makeover spearheaded by new coach Lovie Smith and general manager Jason Licht.
The Bucs earlier signed defensive back Alterraun Verner, quarterback Josh McCown, defensive end Michael Johnson, defensive tackle Clinton McDonald, tight end Brandon Myers, tackle Anthony Collins and center Evan Dietrich-Smith.
Jenkins will be part of a secondary that includes Verner, Johnathan Banks, Dashon Goldson and Mark Barron. Cornerback Darrelle Revis was released earlier this month after one season in Tampa Bay and signed with the New England Patriots.
