Injuries at quarterback sent the Cleveland Browns scrambling for an extra arm, and they added Matt Blanchard to the practice squad as insurance on Tuesday.
Starting quarterback Josh McCown was at meetings and film review on Monday but he remains in concussion protocol, and backup Johnny Manziel will “get the starter’s reps” this week, head coach Mike Pettine said on Monday.
McCown was tested for a concussion after going airborne across the goal line. He lost the ball in a head-on collision and Manziel entered the game.
The undrafted Chicago native attended Wisconsin-Whitewater and signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and spent 2015 training camp with the Green Bay Packers. He also spent time with the Carolina Panthers in 2013-14.
