The Denver Broncos and unrestricted free-agent running back Ronnie Hillman reached agreement on a one-year contract that will keep Hillman in Denver, multiple media outlets reported Monday.
The agreement allows Hillman to participate in the Broncos’ offseason program.
Hillman, 24, led the Broncos in rushing in 2015, gaining 863 yards on 207 carries and seven rushing touchdowns. C.J. Anderson was the Broncos’ main running back in the postseason, however.
Anderson was a restricted free agent, but the Broncos matched an offer for Anderson to retain him as well.
It equips the Broncos with their top two running backs from last season as the team begins to break in a new quarterback, following the retirement of Peyton Manning and the departure of Brock Osweiler to Houston.
