The Atlanta Braves will move into a new ballpark in Cobb County, Ga., starting in 2017, the team announced Monday.

The Braves have played in Turner Field since 1997 but the team’s 20-year lease expires after the 2016 season.

Team executives John Schuerholz, Mike Plant and Derek Schiller said the new ballpark will be built near the intersection of I-75 and I-285 in the Galleria/Cumberland Mall area, and 60 acres of land has been secured for the project, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The ballpark will be built in partnership with Cobb County. The Braves said Cobb County will provide money toward building the stadium but declined to give details about the amount.

The Braves have played in downtown Atlanta since 1966 after moving from Milwaukee. Turner Field, which was built in 1996 as a centerpiece of the Olympics and converted to a baseball-only facility the following year, replaced Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. Turner Field is the 17th-oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.

Cobb County is a suburban county outside Atlanta’s northwest city limits. The I-75 and I-285 intersection is about 10 miles from Turner Field.
