Buffalo Bills tight end Scott Chandler left practice Sunday with a groin injury, and the team is running out of replacement options. Chandler re-signed a two-year deal to return to the Bills in the offseason.

Chandler is coming off a 2013 season in which he set career highs with 53 catches for 655 yards and two touchdowns. He has caught a pass in 32 consecutive games, most in franchise history among tight ends.

Coach Doug Marrone was unable to update Chandler’s condition. Chandler went to the locker room early and was not seen again.

The Bills are running thin at the position. Tony Moeaki hurt his hamstring on Friday and Chris Gragg spent two days in the hospital being treated for heat-related cramps. He might not practice until the end of the week.

In 59 career games, the 6-foot-7, 260-pound Chandler has 135 receptions for 1,623 yards and 14 touchdowns.
