The Buffalo Bills issued tender offers to wide receiver Chris Hogan, offensive lineman Antoine McClain and fullback Frank Summers, and re-signed defensive back Brandon Smith, the team announced Thursday.
Hogan played in each of the team’s 16 games in 2013 and made 10 catches for 83 yards and added 10 special teams tackles. Hogan (6-foot-1, 220 pounds) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers in 2011 and spent a portion of his rookie year on the practice squads of the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants before joining the Bills in 2012.
McClain joined the Bills’ 53-man roster on Oct. 7, 2013 after being released by the Oakland Raiders. McClain (6-5, 336) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 2012 and spent his rookie season on the team’s practice squad.
Summers appeared in 15 games (nine starts) for Buffalo in 2013 and tallied the first touchdown of his NFL career, while posting 12 carries for 46 yards. Summers (5-9, 248) joined Buffalo as a free agent during the 2013 training camp. He was a fifth-round draft selection of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2009.
Smith joined Buffalo’s practice squad on last Sept. 10 before being promoted to the team’s 53-man roster on Oct. 8 and appeared in two games in 2013. Smith (6-1, 205) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers in 2011.
