Buffalo Bills defensive end Alex Carrington reportedly tore a quad tendon in Sunday’s 30-22 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and will need surgery.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported that Carrington will have surgery on Monday to repair the injury, ending his season.
Carrington was replacing the Mario Williams, who missed Sunday’s game with a foot injury that he suffered in the Bills’ Week 11 loss to the New England Patriots.
Carrington, 28, was a third-round pick of the Bills in the 2010 NFL Draft. He played for the St. Louis Rams in 2014 before returning to the Bills as a free agent during the offseason. He had eight tackles in seven games this season.
