Bengals sign QB Campbell

Quarterback Jason Campbell and the Cincinnati Bengals came to terms on a one-year contract on Wednesday.

Campbell, who was cut last week by Cleveland, went 1-7 in eight starts with the Browns last season. He passed for 11 touchdowns, eight interceptions and 2,015 yards.

Cincinnati will be Campbell’s fifth NFL team, joining Cleveland, Chicago, Oakland and Washington.

Campbell is expected to compete for the back-up role behind starter Andy Dalton with Josh Johnson.
