Bears sign free agent LB Freeman

Free agent linebacker Jerrell Freeman agreed to terms of a three year contract with the Chicago Bears on Saturday.

The 6-foot, 240-pound Freeman started all 57 games he played over the last four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, recording 478 tackles, 12 sacks, 21 tackles for losses, eight forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, four interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) and 17 pass break-ups.

In six postseason games, Freeman has 54 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Freeman was an undrafted free agent out of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2012 and played three seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
