Jared Allen will visit the Seattle Seahawks for the second time as the Super Bowl champions attempt to lure the veteran pass rusher to the Northwest and away from retirement.

Allen is leaning toward retiring after his first round of free-agent visits failed to produce a contract in line with his expectations of a deal worth at least $10 million per season.

Seattle signed defensive ends Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett to team-friendly deals in the second wave of free agency in 2013, and that duo wound up starting for the Seahawks in their Super Bowl victory in February.

Avril is in the second year of a two-year deal and Bennett re-signed after testing the free agent market.

The Seahawks released veteran Chris Clemons, who after three seasons of double-digit sacks had just 3.5 in 2013.

Allen, who turns 32 in April, had 11.5 sacks for the Minnesota Vikings last season. He has drawn interest from the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. He has 128.5 career sacks and 29 forced fumbles with the Kansas City Chiefs and Vikings.
