The San Francisco 49ers hired former Cleveland Browns secondary coach Jeff Hafley to fill the same role, according to reports.
Hafley coached the Browns’ secondary the past two seasons. He was on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ coaching staff for two years before moving to Cleveland.
New 49ers head coach Chip Kelly continues to fill in his defensive staff without having a defensive coordinator to run it after he fired Eric Mangini.
The 49ers also have hired Hardy Nickerson as their linebackers coach, according to FOX Sports.
