Time was literally running out for Arkansas State. The Red Wolves had the ball at the Central Arkansas 7-yard line with only three seconds remaining in the game, trailing 31-27.
Without a miracle, it would be a heart-breaking loss for Arkansas State, which had led early in the fourth quarter, 27-10. But, three consecutive Bears’ final stanza touchdowns set the stage for the Red Wolves’ last snap.
Receiver Corey Rucker caught a pass from quarterback Jaylen Raynor in the back corner of the end zone, but the pass was ruled incomplete. A video replay confirmed that Rucker did have one foot inbounds and controlled the ball to the ground, changing the outcome to a 34-31 Arkansas State victory.
That touchdown catch has been chosen as the U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”
For the game, Rucker caught nine passes for 179 yards and the winning touchdown. Raynor completed 24 passes for 317 yards and the score, and ran for 49 yards and another touchdown.
Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”
The Catfish Institute, or TCI, was formed in 1986 by catfish farmers and feed manufacturers to raise consumer awareness of the positive qualities of U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish. Since its formation, U.S. per capita consumption has more than doubled.
