Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork confirmed Tuesday that head coach Hugh Freeze will lead the football program “for many years to come.”
The contract details are not fully known, but it is believed Freeze received a raise from $3 million annually to $4 million per year.
“Very blessed to be at THE University of Miss & work for and with great people and fans!,” Freeze said Tuesday via Twitter. “REBELNATION, say it with me, I AM AN OLE MISS REBEL.”
Ole Miss hired freeze in December 2011 at the concusion of 2-10 season in which the Rebels were 0-8 in Southeastern Conference play.
Freeze is 24-14 overall and went 5-3 in the SEC for the first time since 2008.
