Arkansas, a double-digit underdog playing at home, had never trailed in the game. The Razorbacks took an early lead and had not lost it.
Mississippi State, ranked No. 16 and already bowl eligible, had clawed and fought to catch up. The Bulldogs had tied the game, 21-21, earlier in the fourth quarter and had the ball near the Arkansas goal line.
With just 17 remaining, Mississippi State junior quarterback Nick Fitzgerald hit sophomore wide receiver Deddrick Thomas with a 6-yard scoring pass, giving the visitors their first lead of the game … and the victory.
Mitchell’s game-winning reception, a heartbreaker for the Razorbacks, is this week’s U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”
Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”
