Garrett Nussmeier thought his game against Ole Miss had been among the worst of his college career. But, when LSU’s 29-26 overtime win over the Rebels was over, nobody could feel that way.
Nussmeier threw a tying touchdown pass in the final seconds of regulation, then completed a 25-yard scoring pass on the first play of overtime to complete the comeback. For the game, he passed for 337 yards and three touchdowns.
For his performance, Garrett Nussmeier has been recognized as the winner of the Academy Sports Award, Player of the Week. Through six games, Nussmeier has thrown for 1,989 yards and 18 touchdowns and has run for two scores.
