It had already been a long, long season for Arkansas football. No conference wins and most losses had been by gut-wrenching narrow margins.

The Razorbacks travelled to Gainesville to play Florida, a place where they had never won in program history. One more win and Florida would be bowl eligible.

Not exactly the best scenario for having to enter The Swamp.

But when time expired in regulation, the score in the back-and-forth game was knotted, 33-33.

Florida got the ball first in overtime and kicked a field goal, taking the lead, 36-33.

It would be the last time that the Gators had the ball. Quarterback KJ Jefferson and wide receiver Tyrone Broden made sure of that.

A 4-yard Jefferson pass to Broden in Arkansas’ part of the first overtime secured the first league win for the visitors, sparking a wild celebration which poured from the dressing room back out to the field.

The game-winning reception has been chosen as the U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”

For the game, Jefferson threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 92 yards and another score. Broden caught just three passes for 15 yards, but one of them won the game.

Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”

The Catfish Institute, or TCI, was formed in 1986 by catfish farmers and feed manufacturers to raise consumer awareness of the positive qualities of U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish. Since its formation, U.S. per capita consumption has more than doubled.

U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish is a sustainable and environmentally friendly seafood product. The National Audubon Society, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Environmental Defense all recommend U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish as a safe environmental choice. To find out more, visit www.uscatfish.com.
