U.S. FARM RAISED CATFISH CATCH OF THE WEEK

Unlikely Receiver Gets Unlikely Win for Kansas

The impossible in college football was happening.

Kansas, with only a narrow win over South Dakota this season, was a 31-point underdog playing at Texas. The game had gone to overtime, tied 49-49.

The Longhorns had never led in the game, while the Jayhawks led by 21 points at halftime.

But in overtime, Texas had the ball first and scored a touchdown for its first lead of the game, 56-49. Kansas matched the touchdown, then surprisingly decided to go for broke with a two-point conversion try. It needed a miracle play to pull off the nation’s biggest upset.

That’s when an unlikely hero made the play. It was Jared Casey, a walk-on fullback who had not caught a pass this season.

Scrambling quarterback Jalon Daniels found Casey going across the middle of the end zone. When Casey cradled the throw, it secured the 57-56 win, ending a 56-game losing streak in Big 12 road games, going back to 2008.

Casey’s touchdown reception has been chosen as the U.S. Farm Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”

Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”

The Catfish Institute, or TCI, was formed in 1986 by catfish farmers and feed manufacturers to raise consumer awareness of the positive qualities of U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish. Since its formation, U.S. per capita consumption has more than doubled.

U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish is a sustainable and environmentally friendly seafood product. The National Audubon Society, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Environmental Defense all recommend U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish as a safe environmental choice. To find out more, visit www.uscatfish.com.
