This season is not ending like Maryland’s preseason All-American wide receiver Stefon Diggs could have imagined.
First, Diggs was suspended for Saturday’s home game against Michigan State for his role in refusing a pregame handshake against Penn State on Nov. 1.
To make matters worse, Diggs was injured in that game and now The Baltimore Sun reports Diggs will miss the rest of the season because of a lacerated kidney.
The junior wideout leads Maryland with 52 receptions and 654 yards this year.
He appeared to be hurt while stretching for a touchdown in a game won by the Terps.
Diggs’ 2013 season was cut short after seven games when he suffered a broken leg.
Maryland did not play this past weekend.
