The undefeated and 18th-ranked Michigan Wolverines have lost one of their top defenders for the rest of the season.
On Monday, coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed that linebacker Mario Ojemudia suffered an Achilles tendon injury during Saturday’s 28-0 win over Maryland.
Ojemudia is Michigan’s third-leading tackler with 19 stops after five game. He’s also second on the team with six tackles for loss, and second in sacks with two.
Michigan (5-0) will turn to senior Royce Jenkins-Stone to take over the “buck” linebacker spot.
Heading into Saturday’s showdown against No. 13 Northwestern (5-0), the Wolverines defense is ranked second in the nation in scoring defense.
