Surprising Brigham Young, picked preseason in the bottom half of the “new” Big 12 Conference, remains one of only 10 undefeated FBS college football teams, a legitimate challenger for the College Football Playoff.
But it took a heart-stopping last offensive play against Oklahoma State on Friday night in Provo, Utah, to keep their spotless record.
The Cowboys had led by a touchdown at halftime and reclaimed the lead at 35-31 by scoring a touchdown with only 1:13 remaining in the game. With just 10 seconds left to play, BYU still trailed and had the ball at the Cowboys’ 35-yard line.
That’s when wide receiver Darius Lassiter and quarterback Jake Retzlaff made the difference for the Cougars.
Lassiter hauled in touchdown pass from Retzlaff for the 38-35 victory.
That scoring catch has been chosen as the U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”
For the game, Rucker caught six passes for 132 yards and the winning touchdown. Retzlaff completed only 13 passes but they were for 221 yards and two scores. He also had a touchdown on the ground.
Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”
The Catfish Institute, or TCI, was formed in 1986 by catfish farmers and feed manufacturers to raise consumer awareness of the positive qualities of U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish. Since its formation, U.S. per capita consumption has more than doubled.
U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish is a sustainable and environmentally friendly seafood product. The National Audubon Society, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and Environmental Defense all recommend U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish as a safe environmental choice. To find out more, visit www.uscatfish.com.
