Clippers sign Udoh, Douglas-Roberts


The Los Angeles Clippers signed Ekpe Udoh and wingman Chris-Douglas Roberts to one-year contracts for the veteran’s minimum salary on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Udoh averaged 3.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 42 games, including 14 starts, for the Milwaukee Bucks last season. The 6-foot-10 Udoh was selected sixth overall in the 2010 draft by the Golden State Warriors. He was traded to the Bucks in 2012.

Roberts, also 26, signed with the Charlotte Bobcats in December. He played in 49 games, includuing eight starts, for Charlotte and averaged 6.9 points and 2.4 rebounds.

“Chris and Ekpe are two versatile players who bring depth and a strong presence to our team,” Clippers president of basketball operations and coach Doc Rivers said. “We are excited to add them to the roster.”

According to reports, the Clippers are also close to re-signing forward Hedo Turkoglu.

The 35-year-old Turkoglu joined the Clippers in January and averaged 3.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 38 games last season.
