Guard Jordan Clarkson, a second-round pick in this year’s draft, signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, the team announced Monday.
The Lakers acquired him from the Washington Wizards on draft night in a cash move. Washington selected Clarkson with the 46th overall pick.
As a junior at the University of Missouri last season, Clarkson made second-team All-Southeastern Conference after averaging 17.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists.
Clarkson also led the Lakers’ summer league team in scoring (15.8 points per game) and rebounding (five boards per game). He shot 8-for-19 (42.1 percent) from three-point range in the Las Vegas competition.
Prior to his lone playing year at Missouri, Clarkson played two seasons for Tulsa, making the Conference USA all-freshman team in 2010-11 and the C-USA first team in 2011-12.
