Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus failed a conditioning test after he reported to training camp, ESPN.com reported Monday.

Dareus was on the active/non-football injury list as the Bills began their first training camp practice on Sunday evening.

Dareus reported to camp on Monday, but he will not re-take the conditioning test until no earlier than Thursday.

“He’s not the only one, but obviously you want your players to come in and be ready to go,” coach Doug Marrone said Sunday. “We’re here for a long period of time and we’ll make up for it.”

Dareus was arrested twice during the offseason and could face a suspension by the NFL.

“He’ll be in shape and ready to play,” Marrone said. “Right now he needs to focus on getting himself ready, getting himself on the field, and focus on football.”

Last season, Dareus had 71 tackles, 7.5 sacks, three pass breakups and a forced fumble.
