RB Aaron Jones was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media. Jones is finished for the season after suffering a knee injury in Sunday’s game. He had just four carries for 8 yards in that game.
He had 133 carries for 728 yards and eight touchdowns this season, and he also caught 26 passes for 206 yards and a touchdown.

Aaron Rodgers – Noteworthy – Injury
QB Aaron Rodgers will not be shut down for the final two weeks of the season, according to interim coach Joe Philbin.
Rodgers sustained a mild groin injury on the final play of Sunday’s 24-17 setback to the Chicago Bears, a loss that eliminated the Packers (5-8-1) from postseason consideration.
The Packers placed running back Aaron Jones on injured reserve with a knee injury, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, but apparently they plan for Rodgers to keep playing.
“I think when you sign up for the 2018 NFL season, you sign up for a 16-game season and hopefully you earn the opportunity to extend that and to compete for a championship,” the 57-year-old Philbin said, via ESPN.
Backup quarterback DeShone Kizer would get the nod on Sunday (1 p.m. ET) should the Packers opt to keep the 35-year-old Rodgers on the sideline against the Jets (4-10).
Alex Light – Noteworthy – Transaction
T Alex Light (Packers) was placed on reserve/suspended by the commissioner Monday (Dec. 17) for one game for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Light will be eligible to return to the Packers’ active roster on Monday, Dec. 24 following the team’s Dec. 23 game against the New York Jets.
Allen Lazard – Noteworthy – Transaction
WR Allen Lazard was signed by the Packers Tuesday (Dec. 18) from the Jaguars practice squad. Lazard, a 6-foot-5, 227-pound rookie, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa State by the Jaguars on May 11. He has spent the entire regular season on the Jaguars’ practice squad.
D.J. Killings – Noteworthy – Transaction
CB D.J. Killings was signed by the Packers to the practice squad Tuesday (Dec. 18). He had been waived released from reserve/injured by the Colts Dec. 10. Killings, a 6-foot, 185-pound first-year player, originally signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2017 out of the University of Central Florida. After being waived by the Patriots following training camp, he spent the majority of the season on the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad. He was waived/injured by the Eagles after training camp this season and spent some time on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad and active roster.
Eric Cotton – Noteworthy – Transaction
DL Eric Cotton was signed by the Packers to their practice squad Tuesday (Dec. 18). Cotton, a 6-foot-4, 272-pound rookie, played in 37 games over four seasons at Stanford. After beginning his career as a tight end, he moved to defensive end. In three seasons on defense, Cotton registered 36 tackles (22 solo), five tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks. As a senior in 2017, he set career highs in tackles (30), solo tackles (21), tackles for a loss (four) and sacks (2.5).
