The Washington Redskins signed their top draft pick, outside linebacker Trent Murphy, to a four-year rookie contract, the team announced Friday.
The Redskins took Murphy in the second round of the draft at No. 47 overall.
Third-rounder, offensive tackle Morgan Moses, is the Redskins’ only unsigned pick.
Murphy, who led the FBS with 15.0 sacks last season, gives the Redskins depth behind Ryan Kerrigan and Brian Orakpo.
Murphy started 42 of the 44 games he played at Stanford, finishing third in school history with 32.5 sacks. As a senior last season, Murphy started all 14 games and earned All-Pac-12 first-team honors.
In addition, the Redskins signed free agent wide receiver Rashad Ross and waived wide receiver Kofi Hughes.
Ross was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tennessee Titans in May 2013 out of Arizona State. He spent parts of last season with the Titans and Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squads. He was released by Kansas City on May 12.
