Vikings sign three draft choices

The Minnesota Vikings signed three draft picks and one undrafted free agent Friday.

The team also placed second-year offensive guard Josh Samuda on injured reserve.

Offensive guard David Yankey, a fifth-round pick, joins the Vikings after playing four seasons at Stanford. Following the 2013 season, Yankey was named a unanimous First-Team All-American after being a consensus All-American in 2012. He started 40 of 42 games, with 26 of those coming at guard and 14 at tackle.

Cornerback Kendall James was selected in the sixth round. James, an AP Second-Team All-American in 2013, became the first player to attend Maine to be drafted by the Vikings. James started 36 of 48 games for Maine and had 147 tackles, eight interceptions and 25 pass breakups.

Cornerback Jabari Price was a seventh rounder. He earned All-ACC honorable mention honors after finishing last season with 74 tackles, 4.5 for loss, and nine pass breakups in 12 starts for North Carolina.

Guard Austin Wentworth was named a Sports Illustrated honorable mention All-American out of Fresno State last season. A two-time First-Team All-Mountain West selection, Wentworth started 43 games, including 42 consecutive.
